Description

Bi-directional speaker baffle model BSG-8 for wall is designed for corridors or concourse areas. It includes two grilles on opposite sides to allow sound to radiate from behind and in front of the driver for greater coverage. Side opening for wire access. Steel with white powder epoxy finish. Order speaker separately.

A&E Specifications

The bi-directional baffle for wall or ceiling installation of a single 8 inch driver (not included) shall be Lowell Model No. BSG-8. The box shall be fabricated of 20-gauge steel (11.563 in. square x 4.250 in. projection) with  two pre-mounted grilles, one front and one rear. The assembly shall have a white powder epoxy finish.

Model JG-8X steel grille with beveled edges and white finish includes a separate sub-plate that direct-mounts an 8-inch speaker and enclosure. The direct-mount method allows a high quality 8-inch speaker with a substantial motor structure weight to be supported by the enclosure instead of the grille.

The JG-8X square speaker grille for the 8 inch driver shall be Lowell Model JG-8X. It shall be 20-gauge steel frame with a beveled edge, radius corner cutout and 22-gauge welded perforated screen center. The grille shall include a 21-gauge steel subplate and mounting hardware. The grille shall be 12.375 in. square with a mounting projection of 0.375 in. The subplate shall include provisions for mounting an 8 in. driver and for mounting the speaker/adapter assembly to specified recessed or surface backbox. The subplate shall be finished in black powder epoxy. The grille shall be finished in white powder epoxy and shall mount to the specified backbox using four 8-32 x .375 in. white screws.

The contoured speaker grille for 8 inch speakers shall be Lowell Model WB-8. It shall be fabricated one-piece 20-gauge steel reinforced with a peripheral flange of 60-degrees. The grille diameter shall be 12.875 inch with a shallow mounting projection of 0.25 in. Each grille shall have four 0.25 in. holes spaced at 90-degree intervals on an 11.25 in. bolt circle for mounting grille to specified backbox or mounting ring. It shall be finished in white powder epoxy coating and include white screws for backbox mounting and welded studs for mounting specified 8 in. speaker.

IP66 adaptor LHA-15C attachment for 15W paging horn -- wiring compartment cover threaded conduit fitting (1/2"- 14 NPT) for use with Lowell Horn LH-15TA for conduit attachment. Achieves IP66 Rating for water/dust resistance.

IP66 adaptor LHA-16G (cable) attachment for 15W paging horn -- wiring compartment cover waterproof grommet strain relief for use with Lowell Horn LH-15TA for input with cable. Achieves IP66 Rating for water/dust resistance.

The horn shall be Lowell Model LH-15TA, which shall be a double reentrant design with a high efficiency 15W compression driver, round bell and universal swivel-style base. Power rating shall be 15 watts continuous. Frequency response shall be 537Hz-4.5kHz (±6dB) with a sensitivity of 112.2dB log average (1W/1M) 124.0dB maximum SPL (calculated based on power rating and measured sensitivity). Dispersion shall be 50 degrees conical (2kHz Octave Band). Impedance shall be 5000, 2500, 1300, 670, 330, 90, 45 ohms. Horn shall include a 25/70/100V transformer with screwdriver selectable taps. Taps for 25V use shall be: .13, .25, .48, .93, 1.9, 6.9, and 13.9W. Taps for 70V use shall be: 1, 2, 3.8, 7.5, and 15W. Taps for 100V use shall be: 2, 4, 7.7 and 15W. Transformer connections shall be protected by a plastic cover with strain relief. The horn assembly shall measure 8.94 in. dia. x 9.38 in. deep and shall be weather-resistant metal construction painted in corrosion-resistant beige epoxy.

Speaker baffle model DSL-8 with beveled edges and sloped front is made for use with an 8-inch driver. Steel with white powder epoxy finish baffle features knockouts for 500 Series wiremold on top and bottom, and has a universal mounting hole pattern in the rear.

The dual cone 8-inch speaker shall be Lowell Model No. 810-T72 which shall be of the permanent magnet type having a seamless molded fiber cone with a hard fiber whizzer cone mechanically coupled to a voice coil for extended high frequency response. Power rating shall be 15 watts RMS. The voice coil shall have a 1-in. dia. and shall operate in a magnetic field derived from a strontium ferrite ceramic magnet having a nominal weight of 10 oz. Voice coil impedance shall be 8ohms. The driver shall have a round, structurally reinforced stamped 20-ga. steel frame with 8.062" overall diameter and eight obround holes equally spaced at 45 degrees on a 7.625" dia. mounting bolt circle. Overall depth shall not exceed 2.84". External metal parts shall be zinc-plated to resist rust and corrosion. The mounted transformer shall be 70/25V dual voltage with selectable taps at .25, .5, 1, 2, and 5W. The assembly shall be capable of producing a uniform audible frequency response over the range of 51Hz-11.6kHz ( 6dB), 50Hz- 20kHz ( 6.4dB) with dispersion angle of 95 degrees conical @2000Hz (-6dB). Average sensitivity shall measure 97.9dB (SPL at 1W/1M).

The 2×2 ceiling tile speaker shall be Lowell Model No. LT2-810-72-BB. The 2’x2′ system shall directly replace a 2’x2′ ceiling tile. Each speaker system shall include a factory-mounted driver mounted to a subplate with a fine perforation steel grille finished in white powder epoxy. The driver shall be 8 inch dual cone with a power rating of 15W. It shall have a magnet weight of 10 ozs., frequency response of 54Hz-11.6kHz (±6dB) and 50Hz-20kHz (±6.6dB), and average sensitivity of 97.9dB measured 1W/1M. The system shall include a steel backbox (.147 cu.ft.) with leads exiting through a metal clamp. The dual voltage transformer (25V/70V) shall feature primary taps at .25, .5, 1, 2 and 5W.

The vandal-resistant intercom station with optional call button features a heavy duty stainless steel wall plate and vandal-resistant screws with driver bit. It's ideally suited for areas where vandalism is a concern, such as correctional facilities, public garages and lobbies and warehouses.

The vandal-resistant intercom station with call switch shall be Lowell model VRIC-2G-4525, which shall feature a 45ohm speaker with 25V transformer and a 2-gang wall plate, 11-gauge stainless steel with brushed finish. It shall include vandal-resistant screws and driver bit. The intercom station shall also feature a push button call switch, which shall be a SPST normally open momentary switch.
