The bi-directional baffle for wall or ceiling installation of a single 8 inch driver (not included) shall be Lowell Model No. BSG-8. The box shall be fabricated of 20-gauge steel (11.563 in. square x 4.250 in. projection) with  two pre-mounted grilles, one front and one rear. The assembly shall have a white powder epoxy finish.

Model JG-8X steel grille with beveled edges and white finish includes a separate sub-plate that direct-mounts an 8-inch speaker and enclosure. The direct-mount method allows a high quality 8-inch speaker with a substantial motor structure weight to be supported by the enclosure instead of the grille.

The JG-8X square speaker grille for the 8 inch driver shall be Lowell Model JG-8X. It shall be 20-gauge steel frame with a beveled edge, radius corner cutout and 22-gauge welded perforated screen center. The grille shall include a 21-gauge steel subplate and mounting hardware. The grille shall be 12.375 in. square with a mounting projection of 0.375 in. The subplate shall include provisions for mounting an 8 in. driver and for mounting the speaker/adapter assembly to specified recessed or surface backbox. The subplate shall be finished in black powder epoxy. The grille shall be finished in white powder epoxy and shall mount to the specified backbox using four 8-32 x .375 in. white screws.

The contoured speaker grille for 8 inch speakers shall be Lowell Model WB-8. It shall be fabricated one-piece 20-gauge steel reinforced with a peripheral flange of 60-degrees. The grille diameter shall be 12.875 inch with a shallow mounting projection of 0.25 in. Each grille shall have four 0.25 in. holes spaced at 90-degree intervals on an 11.25 in. bolt circle for mounting grille to specified backbox or mounting ring. It shall be finished in white powder epoxy coating and include white screws for backbox mounting and welded studs for mounting specified 8 in. speaker.

The horn shall be Lowell Model LH-15TA, which shall be a double reentrant design with a high efficiency 15W compression driver, round bell and universal swivel-style base. Power rating shall be 15 watts continuous. Frequency response shall be 537Hz-4.5kHz (±6dB) with a sensitivity of 112.2dB log average (1W/1M) 124.0dB maximum SPL (calculated based on power rating and measured sensitivity). Dispersion shall be 50 degrees conical (2kHz Octave Band). Impedance shall be 5000, 2500, 1300, 670, 330, 90, 45 ohms. Horn shall include a 25/70/100V transformer with screwdriver selectable taps. The dual cone 8-inch speaker shall be Lowell Model No. 810-T72 which shall be of the permanent magnet type having a seamless molded fiber cone with a hard fiber whizzer cone mechanically coupled to a voice coil for extended high frequency response. Power rating shall be 15 watts RMS. The voice coil shall have a 1-in. dia. and shall operate in a magnetic field derived from a strontium ferrite ceramic magnet having a nominal weight of 10 oz. Voice coil impedance shall be 8ohms. The driver shall have a round, structurally reinforced stamped 20-ga. steel frame with 8.062" overall diameter and eight obround holes equally spaced at 45 degrees on a 7.625" dia. mounting bolt circle. The 2×2 ceiling tile speaker shall be Lowell Model No. LT2-810-72-BB. The 2’x2′ system shall directly replace a 2’x2′ ceiling tile. Each speaker system shall include a factory-mounted driver mounted to a subplate with a fine perforation steel grille finished in white powder epoxy. The driver shall be 8 inch dual cone with a power rating of 15W. It shall have a magnet weight of 10 ozs., frequency response of 54Hz-11.6kHz (±6dB) and 50Hz-20kHz (±6.6dB), and average sensitivity of 97.9dB measured 1W/1M. It shall include vandal-resistant screws and driver bit. The intercom station shall also feature a push button call switch, which shall be a SPST normally open momentary switch.

Description

Description

The enclosure for recessed installation of an 8" speaker shall be Lowell model 8XD4, which shall be fabricated of certified U.S. steel and have a white powder epoxy finish. It shall have a tapered 10" can diameter and 4" depth. It shall include a polyurethane foam disc. The enclosure shall feature one knockout (1/2") on top and four combination knockouts (1/2"–3/4") on sides spaced at 90-degree intervals.

This tile bridge distributes the weight of an 8 inch speaker assembly to the ceiling support system in a suspended 2'x 2' or 2'x 4' tile ceiling. A tile-bridge is often required by local building codes for safety reasons, as well as to reduce the potential of having unsightly sags in ceiling tile due to undistributed weight. This tile bridge can be used with or without a backbox, depending on local building codes and the style and weight of the speaker assembly.
